South African children have a way of making even the coldest moments warm, and a group of young snow-trip visitors in KwaZulu-Natal did exactly that during a Newzroom Afrika broadcast. Families in the clip shared on Facebook by Vanslive - South Of Africa News on 10 August 2026 had made the long drive to experience the snow. While the parents spoke about freezing temperatures and tiring journeys, it was the children who completely took over the interview.
Medicine, snow and TV fame
One boy calmly admitted he had been eating the snow, which raised a few eyebrows. His brother, however, had a longer story to tell. With impressive confidence, the child revealed that his real motivation for being there was the chance to appear on television. He then went a step further, sharing that the only reason he had agreed to take his medicine a whole year earlier was that his father had promised a snow trip as the reward.
"Nice flex" and a very South African "Yoh"
A boy from Pietermaritzburg added to the entertainment after his fourth time seeing the snow as a "record coincidence." He was already thinking ahead, telling the interviewer he planned to use the experience as a "nice flex" with his friends back home. When the cold got the better of him mid-sentence, and he struggled to pronounce a word, he let out a loud "yoh" that instantly charmed viewers online.
