The creator made the case with conviction, arguing that this combination goes beyond race, religion, ethnicity and bank balance. He said:
"It goes beyond race, it goes beyond borders, it goes beyond ethnicity, it goes beyond religion. If you're a South African, you know, and as I'm speaking about it, you can smell and taste this meal."
He even drew a comparison to rugby, the sport often credited with bringing South Africans together, saying this meal does it better. His reasoning was simple: whether you have money or not, the warm chips wrapped in paper and pressed into soft white bread with a sip of Coke are a shared experience that cuts across every divide.
