A fatal accident claimed the life of one person and left two others critically injured. The accident occurred on Saturday, 30 August 2025, on the N2 in Zinkwazi, KwaZulu-Natal.

Two vehicles collided on N2
It is alleged that the two vehicles had collided head-on. The driver of one vehicle was trapped inside and had to be freed by the KDM Fire Department. Both surviving patients were later transported to the hospital.
This marks the second accident on the same stretch of road, following an earlier head-on collision between two vehicles earlier in the day.

Accidents in KZN in 2025
Nineteen schoolchildren were injured when the minibus taxi they were travelling in crashed into a wall. Paramedics treated the schoolchildren at the scene before transporting them to hospitals for further care.
Four people were killed in another horrific collision on the N3 near Bergville in KwaZulu-Natal. It is alleged that the accident occurred earlier this morning and involved a truck and a minibus taxi.
Four people were killed in an accident on the R103 between Roosboom and Colenso, near Ladysmith. 15 others were also injured when a car, a taxi and a bakkie collided, with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

A collision between a truck and a bus has left at least 12 Economic Freedom Fighters supporters dead 38 other party supporters, who were travelling back from Youth Day celebrations in Umlazi, were also injured. Investigations are underway into the cause of the R34 accident, which left 10 people critically injured.
A minibus taxi has crashed in KwaZulu-Natal, leaving one pupil dead and 10 others seriously injured. It is alleged that the driver of the school minibus taxi was driving under the influence of alcohol. This caused the driver to lose control of the taxi, full of pupils, resulting in the taxi rolling down an embankment.
A police officer has been killed in a head-on collision on the R34 Emondlo Road near Vryheid. The constable was travelling towards Vryheid in a state vehicle prior to the fatal accident. Citizens have blamed the state of the road for the accident that claimed the lives of five people.
KZN Records 63 Accidents
In a previous article, Briefly News reported that KwaZulu-Natal's road carnage continued after another truck accident on the N3 Mariannhill Toll route, KZN, on Sunday, 15 December 2024. At least 10 people were injured when a truck transporting copper from Zambia ploughed into three vehicles — a bus and two cars — in the early morning hours.
