Gift was born on September 23rd, 1994, in Gachoene, Thokgwaneng, South Africa. He hails from a family that loves football. His father and brother played amateur football but did not go professional.
Career
Gift Motupa started by playing football with a handmade soccer ball in his dusty village. He then joined a local club known as Manchester United when he was 13.
In 2008, during a local tournament, Baroka Football Club owner Khurishi Mphahlele noticed the athlete and expressed interest in signing him. The former Orlando Pirates attacker was signed by the club in 2009, and his star has never stopped shining.
While in Baroka F.C., Motupa and his Baroka teammates beat football titans Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs in the 2011 Ned Bank Cup. In 2012, Gift became the team captain after the former team leader, Lentshene Phalane, left to join Platinum Stars.
