His father, Sello Chicco Twala, is a legendary musician & business magnate, and his mother is Thembi. Longwe Twala parents divorced due to claims made by Chicco that Thembi was cheating on him. The music writer has been struggling with drug abuse for over 15 years. In a leaked video, his father said that he had spent more than R1 million to keep Longwe Twala in hospital for rehabilitation without much success. He has gone to the extent of stealing music equipment worth R300,000 from his family's studio to feed him drugs.
What did Longwe Twala steal?
Chicco's son has been to court multiple times for stealing. His sister once bailed him out after being arrested for theft. Their father was, however, not happy about that. On January this year, he failed to appear in court for allegedly shoplifting toiletries worth R200 at the Gled Shopping Center, Johannesburg in October 2019. This incident came after he failed to produce a receipt for the items as asked for by the security guards. He was supposed to appear at Booyens Magistrate's Court.

He was again arrested for stealing a bar of chocolate worth R10 from a petrol station in Soweto. His father had enough of his stealing habits after he learnt that Longwe had stolen a phone from his friend's son, so he frogmarched his son to Diepkloof Police Station.
In a leaked video, Chicco is heard angrily bashing his son and expressing his disappointment in him.

Who killed Senzo Meyiwa?
Senzo Robert Meyiwa was a South African who was a goalkeeper for Orlando Pirates. Senzo was shot and killed on October 26, 2014, in a robbery. After his death, there were rumours that Longwe Twala Killed Senzo. The police, however, came forward to clear up the air that the claims were false. The misleading claims appear to stem from the fact that Longwe Twala was present at the house of Senzo Meyiwa's girlfriend, popstar Kelly Khumalo, the night he was killed.
