Popular content creators Lasizwe and Ghost Hlubi are trending as Mzansi debates who is the biggest YouTuber in South Africa between the two of them. The debate started after they took jabs at each other.

Ghost Hlubi and Lasizwe are trendsetting YouTubers in their own right. Lasizwe has broken barriers with his Awkward Dates interview series, and Ghost Hlubi is living large thanks to his YouTube earnings. While the two have the same subscribers at 1.12 million each, fans have taken it upon themselves to crown one of them the biggest YouTuber in South Africa.

Lasizwe and Ghost Hlubi trade jabs

The debate kicked off after entertainment blogger Kreative Kornerr took to Instagram on Friday, 8 August 2025, and shared content of Lasizwe and Ghost Hlubi taking playful jabs at each other. The post was captioned:

“With both @lasizwe and @ghost.hlubi sitting at 1.12M subscribers, who do you think is the king of YouTube in South Africa? 📹🔥”

In a video, Lasizwe made fun of Ghost Hlubi when former Piano Pulse co-host Munaka asked him who he thought was the biggest YouTuber between him and the prankster. Lasizwe shaded Ghost Hlubi, saying:

“Oh gosh. We’re not shooting on cell phones here.”

In response, Ghost Hlubi took screenshots of his and Lasizwe’s subscriber counter and bragged that he’d made the same progress while shooting content with cell phones. Ghost Hlubi responded:

“Did it off a self phone goofy (sic)”
