Award-winning songstress Naledi Aphiwe proved that she can laugh at herself after a fan compared her to a small budget car model in a viral video with reality TV star Londie London.

The Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) star Londie London stirred social media chatter when she took to TikTok to promote her new song with a dance video featuring Naledi Aphiwe and Elaine. In the comments section underneath Londie’s TikTok, a fan took a playful jab at Naledi, labelling her an affordable car model.

Londie London attended the launch of the Soft Girl Sundaze event hosted by musician Elaine on Women’s Day, Saturday, 9 August 2025. While at the event, Londie London filmed a video with Elaine and Naledi Aphiwe. The video was captioned:

Naledi Aphiwe saw the cheeky remark and decided to join in the fun. In a light-hearted video shared on her TikTok account, the Metro FM Award winner asked her fans if she could be referred to as a Renault Kwid.

Netizens react to Naledi Aphiwe's response after being called a Kwid

In the comments section underneath Naledi Aphiwe’s video, netizens understood the assignment and playfully trolled the Ngiyabonga hitmaker, calling her a Kwid. While others referred to her as a Kwid, others joked that at least she’d not been referred to as a Bajaj Qute, a small quadricycle commonly used in India. Ayanda Snobuhle Memela also took to the comments and responded to Naledi’s video, while others commended Naledi Aphiwe for her reaction to the remark.

Naledi Aphiwe clarifies her relationship with Mawelele

Meanwhile, Briefly News reported that Naledi Aphiwe clarified her relationship with Mawelele amid breakup rumours.

In an interview with Metro FM, Naledi Aphiwe dismissed speculation that their relationship was a PR stunt to market their collaboration Romeo & Juliet. Aphiwe's explanation came after Mawelele shared that he would be telling his side of the story of his relationship with her.
