It seems as though Unathi Nkayi is still taking her weight loss journey very seriously. The radio star recently showed off her impressive snatched body on social media, sparking positive reactions from fans.

The former Idols SA presenter's weight loss journey began in 2017, and she has not looked back ever since. The star posted a gym selfie and had the internet talking.

Unathi Nkayi shows weight loss update

X page @MDNnewss posted the photo of Nkayi, who was dressed in gym attire and a beanie. It is unclear whether this was taken before or after her session; however, one can tell that she has been putting in the work.

"Unathi putting in the work at the gym," they captioned the post.

Just recently, she posted a post-gym workout video that failed to impress peeps.

What is Unathi's weight loss secret

In an interview on Anele Mdoda's talk show Real Talk With Anele, Nkayi revealed that she started to become aware of her weight when she was nearly 100kgs.

"Rock bottom was not the comments or the disrespectful women who just threw themselves at my man It was being two digits away from triple digits. I couldn't have that," Unathi said at the time.

Nkayi then dedicated her Instagram by encouraging her followers that they, too, can achieve their desired weight loss goals.

“The first thing I do is show people my before and after pics because people like to forget how big I was,” she said.

She then revealed how she achieved her weight, saying people should aim for at least two workouts per week.

What worked for Unathi was eating after 12 pm, and she focused on proteins, saying chicken and fish are also great additions.

She also boldly stated, “The flat stomach is achieved in the kitchen and the abs at the gym.”

Briefly News spoke with fitness instructor and personal trainer Romeo, who revealed the importance of sticking to a specific diet to maintain one's desired shape.

"After all the hard work is done, the strict dieting, the constant workouts, and a steady mindset, now the part which requires discipline comes in. I would not say continue with a strict diet; however, intermittent fasting should become a way of life. To maintain your new shape, it is all about your diet and the food you eat. Making the gym your go-to is also very important, but I emphasise that it is all in your nutrition."

Unathi Nkayi, in a separate post, said she had to prepare mentally for her fitness journey to become a success.

"I had to literally fetch my mind....in constant therapy....it’s no longer about healing in my sessions because I’m gliding great. Now it’s about how do I stay ahead psychologically, spiritually, professionally and financially," she wrote.

She also found dating much easier again and said it was worth all the time spent at the gym.

Speaking to fitness expert and certified personal trainer, Mothusi Maepa, he told Briefly News journalist Moroba Maepa that maintaining a calorie deficit and doing consistent cardio and strength training are effective for weight loss.

Tsekeleke's weight loss questioned

In a previous report from Briefly News, influencer Tsekeleke recently became the talk of the town regarding his weight.

Entertainment commentator Jabu Macdonald shared his concerns about the star not losing any fat on the weight loss reality TV show. "Tsekeleke has never lost weight since the show started. #LoseItOrLoseMe," Macdonald wrote.
