A video of AmaZulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has set social media alight after footage emerged of him handling a firearm at what appeared to be an indoor birthday celebration. In the clip, the king is seen waving the gun around before pressing it against the side of his head, then passing it to someone nearby.
The video was originally shared on X by journalist Sihle Mavuso on Saturday, 26 September 2026, shortly after the king marked his 52nd birthday. The celebration coincided with Heritage Day and the annual Umkhosi WeLembe commemoration held at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban. The indoor gathering captured in the footage features marble architectural details and a "Happy Birthday" message visible on a screen in the background, with attendees appearing to be in high spirits.
