Nota Baloyi has taken aim at Sjava following a video that surfaced on 12 October 2026, showing the musician rapping for mining magnate Solomon "MySol" Madibela at what appeared to be a private event. In the footage, MySol stood watching in amazement as the crowd roared around him while Sjava delivered his performance up close.

The controversial podcaster wasted no time sharing his opinion, framing the moment as a loss of personal dignity rather than a professional booking.

"Thank God I will never love money enough to give up my dignity like this… I'd rather starve than bow before a fool. Foolish pride maybe but I prefer that my dignity stems from my integrity. To each his own though!" Nota wrote.

This was not the first time Madibela found himself at the centre of a viral performance moment. In the months leading up to this incident, he had already trended for a cosy on-stage appearance with singer Babalwa M, suggesting that joining artists during their sets is something of a pattern at his events.

Followers remind Nota of his IShowSpeed days

Rather than rallying behind Nota's critique, many social media users pushed back hard. The general consensus in the comments was that Sjava was simply doing his job as a performer who had been booked and paid.

"He is doing his job."

GulpMMA wrote:

"He sings for a living. He was paid to sing."

DlubuladledleN defended Sjava:

"Sjava is doing what he does every time he's booked; performing, not mopping floors."

The most stinging responses, however, pointed back at Nota himself. Several users dug up memories of Nota's time with American streaming personality IShowSpeed during his visit to South Africa, arguing that Nota's behaviour then was far more undignified than anything Sjava did on stage.

pnmking said:

"You literally ran around like a little kid for Speed! That was way lower than Sjava performing for MySol."

KaMakhakhi mocked Nota Baloyi:

"So said the person who followed Speed the whole day."

Plato_RSA added:

"You followed Speed like a baby the whole day. Where was that pride that time?"

The backlash suggests that Nota's attempt to position himself as a standard-bearer for artistic integrity may have landed very differently than intended, with many peeps feeling he was the last person who should be lecturing anyone about self-respect.
