South African rapper and record producer Nasty C has once again made streaming history, this time with his new album, Free.

Coming from a brief musical hiatus, having only released singles in recent months, Nasty, real name Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, has returned to delight his fans and hip hop heads with some music.

Released on 12 September 2025, the 16-song album sports features from stars like Blxckie and DJ Speedsta, as well as singers Tellaman and Tshego.

Usimamane, who was said to be beefing with Nasty's rival A-Reece, also made an appearance on the project in a song titled Soft, which was released in June.

Four hours before it was released at midnight, Twitter (X) user 2022AFRICA revealed that the project became the most pre-saved album on Spotify for a South African Hip hop artist. This speaks to fans' excitement and eagerness to listen to the project.

Meanwhile, the rapper currently sits on nearly two million monthly listeners on the streaming platform.

After an epic album rollout, which included a stint working at Spar Supermarket, fans are enjoying the music and have once again declared Nasty C as one of the greatest rappers in the country.
