Kayla Kim Meiring, a social media influencer known as Kayla Kim Kay, proudly shared that she had 16 (and possibly more) appliances from the luxury brand, Smeg. The lavish lifestyle displayed on people's screens received applause, with no signs of envy from her supportive fans.

On 18 October, 2025, the Afrocurls business owner, who had been documenting the purchase of items for and the renovation of her new home, first showed her Smeg bar fridge, still boxed, for her patio. Other boxed items included an air fryer, two stand mixers (because she got the wrong colour), a table blender, a juicer, kettles, and other appliances she couldn't remember or name.

Smeg is known for its state-of-the-art products and hefty price tags.

Kayla told her followers online:

"I'm pretty sure there are more in the storage. Moving is no joke, and I keep forgetting where things are."

Hundreds of people on the social media platform shared how much they loved the luxe appliances Kayla displayed, while others applauded the businesswoman for how far she had come.
