A grandmother who spent 30 years of her life waiting for the right man finally found him at the age of 79.

Elderly lady finds love

The Mirror reports that Ernestine's first husband of 20 years, Robert Lee, died when he was just 39 years old.

Her 30-year-old granddaughter, Michelle Washington, admitted being shocked when her granny told her she met a man in church.

The grandma, however, revealed to her granddaughter that she hadn't even got his name as she was too shy to ask him.

"When she told me, I was shocked - she barely leaves the house," Michelle narrated, adding that she immediately knew the man must be special.

Love birds tie the knot

As it turned out, the man in question was 79-year-old Moses Cusse, a grandfather of two and a carpenter.

The lovebirds walked down the aisle at Alpha and Omega church in Richmond, Virginia, in front of 55 guests.

Michelle, who Ernestine raised, praised the granny for finding love and starting to live like she had a purpose.

"I couldn't believe it, she has struggled with depression for years, and to see her bounce back was amazing," the customer service agent continued.

Couple's love life speedily blossomed

Ernestine and her new love quickly established a relationship, speaking daily and spending time together.

Six weeks after meeting and exchanging romantic phone calls, the couple announced that they were getting married.

Michelle disclosed that she was apprehensive at first because they seemed to wed too fast, but she figured that the two are nearly 80 and life is not guaranteed.

"They are so adorable - they are practically the same height. He's such a perfect gentleman," she praised her grandma's lover.

The couple held their marriage ceremony at their local church in Richmond, with Michelle's video of the event going viral on TikTok.

"I'm not sure what viral means, but after seeing all the love and support, I knew God was behind it," Ernestine chimed.

Ernestine and Michelle donned matching pink dresses for the event that the granddaughter described as a "dream wedding".

After the ceremony, the couple held a reception at the church, after which Ernestine immediately moved into Moses' house.

"It has all been amazing; it just shows it's never too late to all be in love," Michelle concluded.

80-year-old woman marries 22-year-old lover

Meanwhile, Briefly News shared that a video of a traditional wedding ceremony between an old lady believed to be in her 80s and a 22-year-old has popped up online. The occasion, which is said to have occurred at Tema Newtown, saw the couple putting rings on each other's fingers.

Netizens who saw the post were stunned and took to the comment to express shock over the age difference.
