How did they begin?

Their journey into precast construction began during the global health crisis, forcing many to rethink their living spaces.

Determined to build a sustainable and cost-effective home, they delved into Kenya's relatively uncharted territory of precast technology.

"We only did skimming and undercoat on the walls, then moved in and were very happy. Even the external walls were not painted," Felicita added.

Their efforts culminated in a stunning residence that combines modern design with the efficiency and durability of precast concrete.

What are the features of the house?

The Maiba's home features spacious living areas and large windows that invite ample natural light.

With meticulously crafted finishes, imagining the house was built in just a few days is impossible.

The interior design seamlessly blends modern comforts with traditional Kenyan elements, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Years later, their home became a point of interest for neighbours and passersby, eager to learn more about precast technology.

What's the value of the house?

That is a sharp contrast to when they moved in four years ago, as the compound had no fence or gate.

"I always advise people to finish the house first and then do the rest at a comfortable pace," Felicita chimed.

Four years since they built the house, the structure has experienced massive transformation and is valued at R271k.

What is precast technology?

Precast technology involves casting concrete in a reusable mould and curing it in a controlled environment.

Once dry, it is transported to the construction site, where the pieces are joined together like a jigsaw puzzle to create a house.

The technology, which has since become popular in Kenya, reduces construction time, minimizes waste, and ensures high-quality finishes.
