Top 3 positions Pirates need to sign new quality players

1. Left-back

Orlando Pirates are in dire need of a new left-back, and either Fawaaz Basadien or Vuyo Letlapa would be a good addition to the team in the summer.

A new manager is coming, and he might not like the idea of sticking with Deon Hotto in that position, and he might be moved further forward.

Basadien has been on Orlando Pirates’ wishlist since last summer, but they face stiff competition from city rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

Letlapa's performance for Sekhukhune United has caught the eye of the Sea Robbers, and they are hoping to bring him to Orlando Stadium this summer.

2. Centre forward

The Bucs have Evidence Makgopa and Tshegofatso Mabasa, but the South African duo have not been delivering in front of goal this season as expected.

Most of Pirates' goals come from the wings and midfield, which shows why they need to invest in a new striker in the summer transfer window.

The Bucs can try out Fiston Mayele, who is also linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs. The Congolese striker has been in good form this season, and he's one of the reasons Pyramids FC knocked the Sea Robbers out of the CAF Champions League.

3. Centre-back

The Soweto giants need one more centre-back ahead of next season, with constant injuries to Olisa Ndah not helping matters.

SuperSport United defender Ime Okon is a perfect defender the Bucs can sign in the summer, but they will have to convince him to ditch his ambition of moving to Europe.

Briefly News also reported that Orlando Pirates are said to have completed the signing of the South African forward after their scouts saw his performance in a recent tournament.
