The Glamour Boys came into the match after their 1-1 draw against Egyptian side Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup over the weekend and were hoping to get back to winning ways in the Betway Premiership.
The two new co-coaches are still struggling with consistency, just like their former head coach, Nasreddine Nabi, did last season.

Ahead of kick-off, the Chiefs coaching staff made several adjustments, bringing summer signings, Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, academy graduates Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Mfundo Vilakazi, and summer signings Asanele Velebayi and Flavio Da Silva into the starting line-up.

Much of the opening half lacked excitement as both teams struggled to create anything that truly tested the goalkeepers.
The first real chance fell to Flavio Da Silva in the 33rd minute, but the Guinea-Bissau striker's close-range volley went over the crossbar without troubling the opposition goalkeeper.
The first half ended goalless, with Kaizer Chiefs being the only team that created a good scoring chance in the opening 45 minutes.
The second period of the match started the same as the first half ended, and once again it was the Glamour Boys that came close to breaking the deadlock eight minutes after the restart.
The chance fell to Da Silva in the 53rd minute, but his header from Mfundo Vilakazi’s cross was directed straight at Chippa United's goalkeeper.

The Soweto giants nearly hit back two minutes later when Da Silva picked out Vilakazi unmarked in the box, but Dumisani Msibi stretched well to tip the youngster’s effort wide.
Amakhosi's managers made several changes in an effort to inject energy into the team, bringing on Mduduzi Shabalala, Khanyisa Mayo, Pule Mmodi, and Etiosa Ighodaro in the second half. Despite these substitutions, the Glamour Boys continued to struggle to carve out clear scoring chances.

Late in the game, Ighodaro had a chance from a header inside the box but failed to find the target in injury time. Shortly after, Ndlovu came close to making an impact with a long-range attempt that narrowly went wide.
The draw leaves Amakhosi in fifth place in the league standings, having gathered 23 points from 12 matches, just one point behind fourth-placed AmaZulu FC and two points shy of third-placed Sekhukhune United.
