  • Upon logging in, a dialogue box will be displayed requiring you to provide and confirm your new password.
  • After changing the password, the application interface will be displayed. You will be required to provide details like your address, gender, whether you have any form of disability to mention a few. The process of filling in the application requires you to save the information that you would have provided before proceeding to the next step. The procedure comprises of twelve steps.

University of Pretoria fees for applications are highly affordable for learners interested in joining different programmes. Luckily, students who come from households with an income of lower than R150,000 annually stand a chance to receive an application fee waiver. It is, therefore, necessary to attach an accompanying proof at step 12 of the application process. UP requires applicants to clear a fee of R300 to facilitate the application process.

University of Pretoria application requirements

To apply at the University of Pretoria, you need the following documents:

  1. Certified copies of:
  • The green bar-coded ID
  • Grade 11 results
  • Most recent grade 12 results

2. Proof that you have paid the necessary application fees

3. An ID number for South Africans, or a passport number for foreigners.

2. Students should preferably select English/Afrikaans as their first language alongside other choices.

3. Applicants without NSC-pass for an undergraduate degree will not receive admission even when their admission point score merits the minimum requirements.

4. Fall prospective learners with Grade 12 received ahead of 2008 stand eligible for provisional admission based on grade 11 results.

5. Admission point score, also known as APS, is necessary and takes into consideration 6 of the 20 recognised NSC credit subjects listed above.

The university has provided prospectus students with the option to track their application online. The UP application status check option is available on the University of Pretoria website. The process requires a prospectus student to set up a UP username and password by following these steps:

1. Select the My UP Login option on the website. The option will display a dialogue box that will require you to log in if you have a user account. If not, you will be required to click on the New User option.

2. On the new user option, you will be required to provide your national identification number or password number and the username. The username is the UP identification number that you were allocated. It has to be preceded by u or p.

3. Submitting these details will provide a criterion for creating the password. After creating and confirming the password, you can click on the proceed button which will display a list of questions that you could use to remember your password. You will then be required to provide answers to the three questions that you would have selected.

4. You can then proceed to log in to your account where you will be required to select the UP study applicant portal option which will display a list of options. On the options provided, you will be required to select the Student Centre option, which will reveal another list of options. From the list, you will be required to choose the UP Student Centre option, which will provide more options. From the list, you will be required to select the Admission Status option. This option allows you to track your application.
