This comes after the Grammy winner was found not guilty of his most severe charges, dropping his jail time from serving life to a possible less-than-five-year prison sentence.

Previously, Briefly News reported on Diddy's lawyers' $50 million (R894,285.000) offer to have the More Money More Problems rapper released on bail.

Meanwhile, ahead of Combs' sentencing on 3 October, all the parties involved are standing by to see whether Trump will sign off on it.

What is a presidential pardon?

A presidential pardon is an act of forgiveness granted by the president to someone who has been convicted of a crime.

In Trump and Diddy's case, the pardon legally nullifies the rapper's conviction and possibly reduces the severity of his punishment.

The decision, or consideration, further speaks to the men's longstanding association, as Deadline reports spans years, as they would often move in similar circles.
