A post on TikTok left people thoroughly amused by the rental market. Most often, Cape Town listings go viral for exorbitant prices, but one in Johannesburg recently became viral.

People were in stitches over the Johannesburg listing that received hundreds of likes in a TikTok post. Netizens commented on the video, thoroughly amused by the apartment setup.

A post on TikTok shared by @rv__nessa showed an apartment in Johannesburg, Edenvale for R5,300. At first glance, the apartment appears to be a normal bachelor's. On closer inspection, the apartment included a bathtub and toilet in the same area as the kitchen. There were no partitions or demarcations for different parts of the apartment, as everything was in one space.

TikTok users slam Cape Town apartment

A TikTok video showing an apartment for rent in Cape Town is going viral. People were not impressed by the interior of the apartment, which went for thousands of rands per month. Netizens in the comments speculated that the rental market in Cape Town was targeting foreigners instead of locals. The Cape Town apartment was dragged on social media for being below average despite its price tag.
