A lucky man came forward to claim his R41 million Lotto jackpot, and also shared his plans for his new fortune in an interview with local news publication TimesLIVE.
The winning confirmation was first shared on Ithuba's X account, garnering massive comments from social media users who were sceptical and unimpressed.
An article shared by local publication TimesLive detailed that the winner, who plays National Lottery games up to four times a week, purchased his ticket for R30 through the Capitec banking app, manually selecting his numbers. His previous biggest win was R303, a dramatic contrast to his new fortune.
The local publication also shared that the winner said he discovered his win when he checked the results online, a moment he described as emotional. He added that he had not shared the news with anyone yet, but was already envisioning a better future.
