GAUTENG — A voice note recorded inside prison and obtained exclusively by MDNtv reveals that Tiffany Meek confronted her father.
Meek, who stands accused of murdering her son, confronted her father over a comment he left on TikTok beneath a video discussing one of the charges against her. Meek has been in custody since 2025 following the death of her 11-year-old son, Jayden-Lee Meek.
The youngster was last seen alive on 13 May 2025. His body was discovered on 14 May in the stairwell of the Johannesburg apartment complex where he and his mother lived.

In the recording, Meek can be heard telling her father that his reaction — a single word, "Sho!" — was "shocking" and that it was "not only hurting me, but it's hurting my case as well."
Phone access raises questions
The recording raises serious questions about how Meek is communicating from a correctional facility, given that awaiting-trial prisoners are not permitted to use personal cellphones.
It was previously reported that a cellphone was allegedly smuggled into the prison where Meek is being held, and the latest voice note deepens those unanswered questions.
The significance of the exchange is compounded by remarks made by Magistrate Anneline Afrika during Meek's bail hearing, in which the magistrate noted that Meek had the capacity to influence witnesses, specifically her family members.
Meek's apparent ability to monitor family activity on social media platforms and respond directly from custody appears to give weight to those concerns.

Meek maintains that the real killer is out there
Briefly News reported that Meek was denied bail in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court by Magistrate Anneline Africa in July 2025.
Her lawyer, Noven Naidoo, spoke to the media outside the court about his client's plans after her bail application failed.
Naidoo said Meek wanted to leave no stone unturned in her quest for justice, as she claimed that the real killer was still at large.
