The actress was born on 5th March 1982 in Pretoria. She was raised in Centurion by her mother Cecile alongside Natasha, her younger sister.

For Nadia Valvekens education, she went to Wierda Park Laerskool and later completed her matrics at Eldoraigne Hoerskool. She then did her BA in drama at Technikon Pretoria and graduated in 2003.

At the time of her matriculation, Nadia had been involved in drama for about 12 years. During her three-year diploma at Technikon, she was part of several stage productions, including Clive Morris's Maid in the New South Africa.

She kicked off her career as a presenter on SABC2's Die Nutsman in 2003. Nadia later landed several minor cameo roles across South African production companies until November 2004, when she was cast to play Nicole Kannemeyer on 7de Laan. She then landed the role of Pippa Venter on Binnelanders in 2005.

She has also been part of several Nadia Valvekens movies, including The Road (2002), Daddy (2002), Henley-on-Klip (2010), and The Deadline (2015).
