A model designed around long-term support
The school supports children from under-resourced communities through programmes extending beyond classroom teaching. Families need to satisfy income requirements and live within designated catchment areas.
Christel House combines education with nutrition, healthcare, character development, family assistance, and career preparation. Its Career Development Programme supports students after successfully completing their Matric studies.
More than 250 post-Matric students receive support through the Career Development Programme. Learners can receive assistance for up to 19 years through the programme.
Support includes tertiary applications, university stipends, employment mentoring, social workers, and psychological counselling. The institution provides daily transport, meals, healthcare, uniforms, and learning materials for learners.
Its programmes reach more than 3,000 parents and community members across Cape Town. Christel House reports an average Matric pass rate of 99% since opening.
Between 93% and 95% of alumni remain engaged in education, training, or employment. Several graduates have progressed into professional careers after completing their studies at Christel House.

Alumni include medical professionals, engineers, business owners, and corporate training specialists after graduation. The school received philanthropic support from organisations linked to Johann Rupert and Michael Dell.
Funding has supported healthcare, nutrition, digital literacy, and science programmes for learners. More recently, Christel House opened a new high school facility at Ottery.
The expansion aims to address shortages of high school places within surrounding communities. The organisation is also seeking funding for a separate Grade R-to-12 campus.
