Uproar ensued when Betusile Mcinga was featured on the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) 12th Anniversary rally poster. The Gospel singer shot up the trends list on Tuesday, 22 July 2025 on X (Twitter).
The opposition party's celebration will be taking place on Saturday, 26 July 2025, at the Khayelitsha Rugby Stadium, Cape Town.
Netizens' complaints did not fall on deaf ears as he was removed from the poster and replaced by Sfiso S, who is a proud EFF supporter. Some acts to perform at the event include Zee Nzumalo, Big Zulu, Nkosazana Daughter, Mlindo The Vocalist, Daliwonga, Jumbo, LeeMcKrazy and many more.
The singer performed at the African National Congress's 113th birthday celebration on 11 January this year. There are photos of him wearing the ANC regalia, alluding to him being a supporter of the ruling party.

An EFF member, @ZizinjaAbelungu, posted the new and improved poster without Betusile.
Betusile reacts to uproar over his involvement in EFF rally
The Gospel singer, whose mother is the legendary Lusanda Spiritual Group member, Lusanda Mcinga, reacted to this on Facebook.
Betusile Mcinga revealed that the media hounded him for a comment on the matter, but he instead wished the EFF well on their growth.
"Don’t make the event about me. Guys, it’s about celebrating the EFF, so I think let’s focus there, not on me. Even if I’m there or not doesn’t change anything about the 12th anniversary. A big milestone for black organisations to achieve such so let’s celebrate them and stop trying to find negativity."

Netizens roast Betusile Mcinga
Social media users had a field day with Betusile, and they roasted him for filth.
@ChrisExcel102 reacted:
"The greed of Betusile needs to be studied in Unisa."
@ShepherdSkhomo said:
"He must call his friends from Umhlobo Wenene FM for a gig for this weekend. That is how they operate on that radio station. ANC has full access pha."
@VITO_G_Wagon remarked:
"Thank you, EFF. No Betusile Mcinga will benefit from EFF while we are still alive, unless he repents. These people need to repent. Now we prioritise our people, it is about time."
@Cde_MM_Mandela shared:
"I stand with the masses of the @EFFSouthAfrica who are rejecting Bethusile. He is a known member of the ANC. So who exactly will he be singing for at an EFF rally? Betusile must just stay in the Eastern Cape and water the flowers they gave his family there. We want artists who represent the soul of the Cape."
