Sonia Mbele Thrilled To Be the Brand Ambassador for Kasie FM: “Charity Begins at Home”

Media personality Sonia Mbele recently announced that she is the brand ambassador for a local radio station, Kasie FM. The former Generations actress is now taking her talents to the airwaves, and she is excited.

According to Daily Sun, Sonia said that the radio station approached her, so it only felt right for her to accept the offer.

The 48-year-old's role with this partnership is to bring the community together through her initiative, Crowns On Fleek.

"I happen to work with a team from Ekurhuleni. Charity begins at home. They're currently affiliated with Kasie FM in one capacity or another, and when Kasie FM mentioned that they wanted to work on events to unify the community, my name and Crowns On Fleek came up. The rest was literally homecoming," she said.

This is just another addition to Sonia Mbele's multiple streams of income. She recently had tongues wagging when she showed off her brand new Ferrari car.

The star further added how Kasie FM has played a major role in ensuring that she remains proud of where she is from and who she is now.

"When I was growing up listening to Kasie FM and driving past the premises every other weekend, I developed a connection. This is where 70% of my family resides, so I guess this is not far-fetched or new to me. This is my community, and nothing is as fulfilling as being seen by your people."

Sonia then took it back to where it all started, home. The star said she was born in Nelspruit, at a hospital near her home. She metaphorically shared:

"My umbilical cord is attached to this community, so there's no Kasie FM brand versus the Sonia Mbele brand. We are one and the same," she said.

Why Sonia quit acting

The Blood & Water star has officially bowed out of acting. When asked why, she said she was tired of having to walk a long distance to get to the set. In her podcast Woza Nazo, Sonia narrated how a security guard alerted her to park her car outside the premises.

“The reason why I stopped acting is because I hated getting on set. You get on set, and there’s no one to meet you at the gate. Normally, we would park our cars as a cast inside the yard. Next thing I’m told by the security, ‘You can’t park inside.’ I’m like, why, and they say the rules have changed.”
