GAUTENG – Herman Mashaba has sparked a debate online after questioning why Hangwani Morgan Maumela has not been arrested yet.

The businessman has been implicated in the widespread looting at Tembisa Hospital. Corrupt syndicates were responsible for the looting of over R2 billion from the hospital, which was intended for healthcare services.

@Kat4Kubs said:

“Why are we not asking who the master ringleader of all this is, because he is not the ultimate kingpin of the so-called Big 5. Who replaced Jonathan "King Mswazi" Msibi?”

@tsitso09 added:

“Can you tell us why political parties don't amend the Constitution/ laws that are useless, as the lawmakers in Parliament? Our law enforcers face difficulties arresting criminals. As lawmakers, you ought to make it easy for them and stop complaining like us ordinary citizens.”

@Thato7Mk stated:

“Good question. But, I would say for the very same reasons that Edwin Sodi is still not arrested five years after the SIU took some of his assets, and he had the audacity to buy some back. And the same reasons they blue-ticked your emails when you were Mayor.”

@Theview76116755 said:

“Because the officials who enabled him and others continue to be protected by the powers that might be in the Gauteng government. The people who processed the payments after Babitha raised concerns know what really happened.”
