How did Ashanti announce her pregnancy?
43-year-old Ashanti shared the news on her Instagram through a creative video. In the clip, she's seen in a dressing room, prepping for a stage performance.
Her mother, Tina Douglas, checks in on her, inquiring how much time she needs to get ready. The singer reveals a pregnancy test and playfully states she'll need "about nine months."

The R&B songstress further confirmed the delightful news in the clip's caption.
She wrote:

Are Nelly and Ashanti a couple?
In an interview with Essence, Ashanti disclosed that she is pregnant and engaged to rapper Nelly.
“This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation. Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience," she said.
While this is the couple's first child, Nelly has four other children.
His family includes his biological children, Chanelle, 29, and Cornell Haynes III, 24, and his niece and nephew, Shawn and Sydney Thomas, whom he adopted following his sister's passing.
How long have Nelly and Ashanti dated?
The couple started dating in 2003. However, they broke up in 2013 and only rekindled their romance in 2023.
The 49-year-old rapper confirmed they had gotten back together in an interview with Love and Hip Hop's Rasheeda and Kirk Frost.
“I think we both were pretty much doing what we do, but sometimes, being separate, you understand one another more. You be like, ‘Yo, let me see exactly what they see.’ You know, because we all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. We know we wrong but we going to stand on it. But we all a victim to that," he said, explaining their long break.
