The University Council of UMP was inaugurated on August 14th, 2014, and the inaugural students enrolled in February 2014. On January 1st, 2015, the Lowveld College of Agriculture formally got incorporated as part of the Mpumalanga University.

How do I apply to the University of Mpumalanga?

- Proof of fees payment
- Certified copy of grade 11 results as well as any latest grade 12 results
School learners need to make sure that all their examination results from Grade 11 up to September of Grade 12 accompany the application. Failure to comply may result in delays in the application process. Applicants should, also, check for any further individual requirements for each course or tertiary institution. Also, note the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs) requirements and confirm if you need NBT results for your application.

Online University application for international students
To be allowed to register at Mpumalanga University, international students must show proof of identification and ability:
- Valid passport
- Study permit
- SAQA verification certificate
- Proof of financial means (this could be bank statements, bursaries, cash available/traveller’s cheque or cash to pay tuition fees and cover envisaged living expenses)

How much is the registration fee at University of Mpumalanga?
There is a set University of Mpumalanga application fee for all applicants. An administration fee which is indicated on the UMP application form needs to accompany each application and it is non-refundable.

Course cost range per annum

Application closing date
The application must be submitted using the prescribed forms available on the University's website and it must reach UMP before the official closing date. For the Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching, the closing date is September 30th, 2019, while all other applications (for different programmes) close on October 31st, 2019. Forms can be obtained electronically from www.ump.ac.za or the relevant UMP Campuses and delivery sites.
