Reality TV Star Felix Hlophe Addresses Massive Body Shaming: “I’ve Been Called Many Names”

Bathong, South African comedian and reality TV star Felix Hlophe came forward and shared how tired he was of being body shamed by netizens on social media.

According to Daily Sun, the reality TV star, who marked his 6th wedding anniversary with his wife in November 2024, opened up to the publication about the intense body shaming he has been getting on social media.

Hlophe revealed that he was used to being shamed because of being a plus-sized man for the longest time in his life, but also mentioned that things got worse when his reality TV show made its debut on Mzansi Magic channel 161 on DStv.

He said he has been called fatty or sdudla but found a way to ignore the noise until recently when someone called him boomba, which rubbed him the wrong way. Although he claimed not to be a violent person, he said that if such behaviour continued, he wouldn't hesitate to react.

"I personally don't like violence, but as a big-sized man, I have been called many names, which I have lost count of, trust me, some are derogatory and others are just plain or lightly offensive to me.
"And then a few days back, yoh for the first time in my life I was called a boomba, and geez, I couldn't hold myself honestly. If people are silly and old enough to run their mouths wild, they must be old enough to catch my hands," he said.
