Zozibini Tunzi was born to Philiswa Nadapu (mother), a school principal, and Lungisa Tunzi (father), who worked for the Department of Higher Education and Training. She is one of four sisters; her sisters are named Yanga, Sibabalwe, and Ayakha. She is married to Luthando Bolowana.
