In 2024, Nhlamulo Nota Baloyi was accused of sexual assault by the actress and singer Itumeleng Bokaba. The singer opened a case against Nota at the Douglasdale police station. Baloyi was expected to appear before the court on 7 October 2024.
Bokaba alleged that the incident happened after she was introduced to Nota who flirted with her. They proceeded to arrange house visits and chatted on WhatsApp.

Nota Baloyi denied the sexual assault accusations and said he had a consensual relationship with the actress. He was expected to appear before the court on Monday 7 October 2024. However, Nota Baloyi turned himself in to the police on Friday 4 October and wrote on X (Twitter),
Handing myself in at Randburg police station and hoping for the best. Please keep me in your prayers; this is officially the worst day of my life so far
The music executive spent the weekend behind bars awaiting his court date on Monday. He was granted R5,000 bail after he appeared before the magistrate at the Randburg court on Monday afternoon 7 October 2024.
The magistrate postponed the case to 9 November 2024 to allow for verification of the WhatsApp messages exchanged between Nota and Bokaba.
In February 2025, Itumeleng Bokaba dropped her sexual assault case against Nota Baloyi. The actress took to Instagram to announce her decision stating,

The court order was obtained by K.O who had asked him to refrain from implicating him in the assassination of AKA. Nota was sentenced to 60 days of direct imprisonment for contempt of court.
He served only two weeks of the 60 days in prison before he was released on parole late November. He completed the 60-day sentence in January 2025. The famous rapper was delighted to complete his parole saying,
Life on parole was tough, so I used it as a break to not think about my plans for the year,” Baloyi said. I just have faith that there will be fewer obstacles to overcome than those I encountered in 2024.
