Love by Chance's original name is Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey. The series is about two young people who come from two different worlds. They believe an arranged marriage is a thing of the past. The two fall in love while trying to prove that arranged marriages should not exist in today's civilized society.
Love by Chance plot summary
Anubhav (alias aka Anu) is conservative and from a middle-class family. Gungun comes from a wealthy class, is outgoing, and loves to party. Their parents want them to marry each other.
Anu hates Gungun's character and is not ready to marry. He is a scientist and wants to focus on his career. Gungun's friends advise her against marrying him.
Unavoidable situations make them get close to each other. They discover they share a lot in common and fall in love. They cancel their wedding ceremony twice and part ways for a long time before becoming a couple.

Anubhav is a scientist and stays with his extended family, which values traditions. Elsewhere, Gungun is the CEO and Chief Editor at Jeet Network. She grew up in a wealthy home and was raised by her father.
Gungun hates her mum for abandoning her at a young age. Her dad and Gungun's family want them to marry each other against their will. The two agree to end the marriage if it does not work out.

Anu and Gungun's wedding is postponed due to a scandal in Anu's family. Akiriti loves Anu and does not want him to marry Gungun. Gungun naively thinks she can be friends with Akiriti because they both hate their mums.
Anu and Gungun's wedding plans resume when the issue involving Anu’s uncle is solved. The marriage is called off again after Maya’s mother insults Anu’s family. Akiriti and Maya join forces to divide them more.
Gungun and her dad visit Anu’s house to apologize for the disruptions at the wedding. She later flees home and gets into an accident. After healing, her boyfriend, Ronny, requests her to join him on a trip.
Gungun accepts the invitation because it will enable her to attend Anu and Akiriti's wedding. Ronny calls Anu to brag about his plan to marry Gungun without her consent.
Anu abandons his wedding to save her. In the process, he unintentionally performs a marriage ritual that makes him Gungun's husband, but not officially.
The police arrest Ronny, and Gungun learns about her father's illness. She almost ends her life after her dad's ash veneration ceremony. Akiriti gets upset when Anu for saving her.
Ronny leaves jail and threatens to expose Anu and Gungun's marriage ritual. Maya forces Gungun to marry Ronny to safeguard the secret. She takes sleeping pills and becomes unconscious on the wedding day.
Anu takes Gungun to the hospital. Her mother insists they should marry officially when she recuperates. They do so at the medical center without inviting anyone. Akiriti is enraged when she learns about it.
Charu makes Anu promise that he will never meet Gungun again. After two years, Anu’s dean requests him to work abroad. He rejects the dean's offer and insists on working for his country.
Love by Chance StarLife final episode
Anu wins an international award and attributes his success to Gungun. Gungun later returns home from the USA and buys an orphanage from a non-profit organization. She is unaware that Anu is affiliated with it and that the kids love him.
Anu and Gungun eventually meet. She gives him flowers for winning the international award. Their love blossoms, and they two decide to run the orphanage together.
